receipt whenever mail open

Hi all,
Actually i'm sending mail to some of my friends dynamically, i.e theie email address is being taken from a database and i wanted to have a receipt whenever they open the mail. Could any one help me on this issue.

sorry for my english, all i wanted is that whenever someone open the email that i send him dynamically via php i got a return-receipt and from this action i could update my database either automatically or manually. I hope i explain my prb much better.
