php pages appearing as blank html pages?

Postby jennifer » Tue Apr 22, 2003 4:47 pm

please help, i have never setup a php site before, and i'm baffled over why my php pages are appearing as blank html pages on the server. here on my local machine, everything is working perfectly..

here's just one example: (all the php pages show up blank, not just this one)..

here's what it is supposed to look like:

and here's the script:

Code: Select all

   require_once 'global.php';
   require_once 'html_form.php';
   $weeklyemailform = new Form(weeklyemailform,uri_self());
   $weeklyemailform->addText('email', 'Email', '', 20, 100);
   $weeklyemailform->addSubmit('Sign Me Up');
   $weeklyemailform->addRule('email', 'required', 'Your email is required.');
   $weeklyemailform->addRule('email', 'email', 'Please enter a valid email.');
   $weeklyemailform->addFilter('_ALL_', 'db');
   $signupcomplete = false;
   if ($weeklyemailform->valid() ) {
      $processed = $weeklyemailform->getProcessed();
      $email = strtolower($processed['email']);
      $sql = "SELECT id from members where email = $email";
      $result = mysql_query($sql);
      $id = @mysql_result($result,0,0);
         if ($id == null) {
            $ismember = false;
         } else {
            $ismember = true;
      if ($ismember) {
         $sql = "UPDATE members SET weekly_email = 'y' WHERE id = $id";
      $sql = "INSERT into weeklyemail set email = $email";
      $signupcomplete = true;

            <td width="340" height="160" valign="bottom"><center><table width="260" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td>
               if ($signupcomplete) {
                  print '<center>
                              Sign-Up Complete
                              <table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0">
                                    <td id="yellowborder" class="smtext">
                                       <a href="javascript:window.close();">OK</a>
               } else {

is this an issue with an include_path or something? how come i see the blank pages and not even an error?

Hello jennifer.

On what did you install php?
Windows or linux?

This is the error I get.

Fatal error: Failed opening required 'DB.php' (include_path='c:\jennifer\pear') in /usr/www/su4uadmin2/web/config.php on line 7

And just check your other files.
global.php and html_form.php.

Place your config.php on the forum so that we can have a look at that aswell.
