I've been developing a niche market website using PHP. Is there any way to protect the code if it is sent to a purchaser, i.e. protect it against being simply cut and pasted for other purposes. Anyway to compile PHP?

Well... I didn't think so. Since it is server side, I thought there might be some way. It is not unheard of to have compiled interprative progrmming languages.

only thing I can think of is if there's a way to physically (and perm!) LOCK a file that doesn't need editing...
