search engine tags

Postby DoppyNL » Sat Aug 17, 2002 11:17 pm

What meta-tags should I use to get the best results when a search engine "scans" me??

currently I'm only using "keywords" and "description"
but I've seen sites that have these:
robots
description
keywords
author
DC.Title
DC.Creator
DC.Subject
DC.Description

Wich meta-tags can I best place in my file??

I was hoping somebody could give me a simple answer, appearently knowone here can at the moment.

So now I search with google and after about 1,5 hours I know what the best method is, if you want to know it as well, I suggest you search with google, there is too much to explain it in short here.

It's not a simple answer, it's quite complex depending on what results you want to achieve (as I can speak from experience).

Besides, this is a PHP Forum, not a search engine forum, which is not to say I won't allow search engine threads, but you have to remember that people come here to discuss PHP! There are search engine forums around, if you care to look!

I won't close this thread (yet), just in case someone wants to pick up on it.
