Job Opening - PHP Developer

Our team at Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters is seeking a talented developer to provide PHP programming services. Candidates must have demonstrable experience building real world, online applications and must be able to contribute from day one. Candidates must be comfortable working with team members at all levels and departments within the organization and must be willing to contribute leadership, opinions, and insights with department leaders in order to effect rapid decision cycles and effective technical solutions to business requirements. (Yes, we know this paragraph is full of ‘buzz’ words).
  • Requirements:
    Must be a resident of Las Vegas
    2-3 Years of PHP web application programming experience.
    Can successfully write secure well engineered code.
    Familiar with MVC architecture as implemented in CodeIgniter.
    Write well documented easily readable code
    Experience with MySQL
    Experience in LAMP environment (‘We love LAMP’)
    Proficient implementing and writing web service APIs using JSON or XML (and other acronyms as well!)
    Extensive knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS, Ajax and Javascript
    Familiar with mobile web browsers and mobile web applications
    Familiar with W3C standards and best practices
    Ability to translate business requirements into system design /specification documents
    Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    Strong debugging skills and the ability to easily and quickly read and modify existing code.
    Must be laid back as {a 4 letter expletive that our legal team made us take out}.
    Needs to be creative and open minded
    Needs to be self motivating and able to work without being under strict supervision.
    Must be able to learn on your feet.
  • Preferred Skills:
    Experience in custom built CMS(s)
    Experience in the tourism and/or entertainment industry
    Knowledge of basic processes in online reservations and booking methods.
    Experience with the Cassandra datastore.
    Experience with Microsoft Office (O_o) Suite,
    OR (more preferred) experience in Google Docs (yay!!)
    Practical knowledge of Adobe products, mainly CS5 et al.

Damn it :/ Why cant you be living in Vegas egami!!!?? haha experience in PHP and airlines would possibly fit the position needed perfectly! If you want, send your resume over so we can take a look at it. Not promising anything but maybe an exception will be had this time! Got to have a little hope. . .right? :)

Please feel free to use as much as you want! We really wanted to set the tone of our office in the job description. We don't want a hard military driven sergeant coming into our relaxed laid back development environment. Unfortunately we are needing someone local to Las Vegas, we have most to all of the data model written out and need someone basically at a desk right next to us to easily develop this application together as it is fairly unique and complex compared to a usual online booking process.

However if you do have any good references local to Las Vegas we would love to check them out!

Otherwise wish you guys were here yourselves :/
