Data base recovery from the recovered files

Postby sakthisiga » Wed Mar 28, 2012 6:16 pm

Hi everyone,

I have installed xampp and created a site with php and mysql. I had huge database with 5 or 6 tables. Some of the tables have more than 1000 records. Accidently the xampp got uninstalled and I lost the xampp directory in c:, but I have recovered all directories using a third party data recovery tool.

Now I want to make my website to be work again.

Do I need to re-install the xampp?

How should I make use of the recovered files to give life to my website???

Please let me know the steps to do the same.
Thanks in advance!!

Hey Sakthis,

Yes re-install xampp
If you have any .sql files, you'll be able to import them into phpmyadmin and be able to recover tables etc depending on the file.

All your website files like .html & .php etc should go in the .htdocks directory.

If you find some of your things on your website do not work, it may be because of your php.ini file is reset to it's default from re-installation. So you'd need to update your php.ini file if that was the case.

Hope this helps! :)
