Hello! New member here

Postby Southpaw802 » Wed Oct 27, 2010 11:54 am

I am a student currently taking an internet programming class. I have joined this forum to learn more about php.

I don't have a great deal of knowledge of php as of yet, however, it seems simpler than JavaScript, and very useful.

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum.

I just joined this forum too. So yh.

I know a bit about PHP.. but i though Javascript was simple. PHP is just used to build up a website and linking with database and that kind of stuff. So yeh

I'd say javascript is simpler than PHP as PHP is fully OO and has a MASSIVE built in library

PHP == server side
Javascript == Client Side

Depends on your definition of simpler

If you mean simpler as in not complex then you would be correct. Until you consider JQuery which is just a gigantic library for Javascript.

If instead you mean simpler as in easier to use then you would be mistaken. All of the built in functionality for PHP allows for efficient and easy to read code.

and lets not forget..
Javascript is LOCAL, while PHP is serverside.
