Connecting MySQL to PHP

Postby lokisapocalypse » Thu Jun 21, 2007 4:39 pm

Hello all. I am running Fedora Core 6 with PHP, Apache, and MySQL installed on it. The problem is that I cannot run any mysql commands through PHP. I am wondering how I can fix this.

Thank you for your suggestion but unfortunately installing that package produces dependency errors:

rpm -i php-mysql-5.1.6-3.6.fc6.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:

libssl.so.6 is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-3.6.fc6.i386
php-common = 5.1.6-3.6.fc6 is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-3.6.fc6.i386
php-pdo is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-3.6.fc6.i386
rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by php-mysql-5.1.6-3.6.fc6.i386

Any ideas on how to resolve them?

Red Hat came up with `yum` package manager. You should install it or upgrade the system.

Once you install `Yum`. You just need to give yun install <<package name>>. It will automatically resolve the dependencies.
