Design issues in IE and mozilla?

Postby trestian » Fri Feb 10, 2006 1:42 am

Good day!

I have a problem in designing the web...please give me an idea how to solve this problem....i have a website..
The design is good when you browse it in the IE but when you browse it in the mozilla the tables and images will be dis arrange... it is possible of the HTML tags?........or there are compatible issues between IE and Mozilla?........ or if there is a software design that can support both of the browser.......thanks

well its all about the code, i've noticed that xhtml1.0 transitional that validates at w3c will in 99% of cases be totaly okej in IE if you make it work in mozilla first :)
There are however some small issues that will have too be fixed when designing för IE after that

Note that IE will often display your page correctly even if the HTML isn't valid. IE isn't as strict as it should be.

Check your HTML.

...I have also seen that thier are issues of html tags in IE and mozilla...... example in using <div> and <p>......coz if i used <p> its ok in IE but not in mozilla...............but if i used <div> its ok in both of the browser...

thanks and more power

Good day sir..Alexie

im not pretty sure between the difference of<div> and <p> tag. but i resolve my problem by using <div> instead of <p>. I used frontpage or dreamweaver for designing the problem is in frontpage coz after i finish my designing i observe that mostly front page use <p> tag in aligning the image.....and that coz that if i browse it in the mozilla it will dis arrange my images so i try to change all <p> to <div> then it works well in mozilla.but im not pretty sure if this is the solution of the issue...and by the way thanks a lot sir. alexie

Are you talking about positioning your image?
If that\'s the case, you could be using a selector in css like-

Code: Select all

p #image_container {

so it only works on paragraph elements.
The other problem could be that, since the paragraph element has an automatic padding in some browsers (the padding varies), your padding could be getting messed up.

Anyway, you\'ve solved it already, so I\'ll be quiet now ;)
