Creating nav links: home / about_us / members etc etc

Postby beertastic » Thu Dec 19, 2002 9:45 am

I need to employ a system that notes the page I'm on, and adds it to a variable or such, that I can display at the top of the page.

I can pretty much do that, I did a system with cookies, but it just added the page, and then went on forever.

I need to have the list change when I go 'back' in the order of links..

I mean if I have:
home / about us / members / member No 123
and I click on 'about us', 'members' and 'member 123' are deleted from the list.

make sence?

Anyone know how to do this...

Many thanks,

There's no need to use cookies.
Cookies are good for other jobs, and you are never 100% secure that the user will have them activated.
I suggest a variable that passes through pages via HTTP.
You can use $HTTP_GET_VARIABLES

Output of variable names and their values passed through HTTP using the "POST" or "GET" method in a form for example.

Code: Select all
while(list($key, $value) = each($HTTP_GET_VARS))
{
echo "$key = $value<br>";
}

I hope it helped
