Using includes for external pages/sites?

Postby graceout » Wed Oct 30, 2002 9:20 am

I often use includes to pull material from other sites, but this is the first time I had to install PHP.

I congured the 'include_path' correctly to allow includes form my server, but how do I configue to include a remote site. (i.e. include "http://www.yahoo.com"; )

I know it's possible, I use it all the time.

Perhaps there is someway to distinguish betwwen realative and absolute.

Thanks for any help,

Jon :lol:

you can simply do

Code: Select all

include('http://www.php-forum.com/thefile.txt');

doesn't have much to do with your include path, since it is on a remote server.
I do it all the time, and haven't touched the include_path yet.
