realaudio.php?=a

Postby forcer » Sat Oct 26, 2002 1:15 pm

i am fairly new to PHP and without looking into it i took the hard route when building my site.
for example:
when creating a page, with lists of real audio A-to-Z
i had to make 26 different pages, for each letter.

but i go onto another site with something similar. and instead of them having 26 different pages, there have 1. and its like this

realaudio.php?=A

and if i click B, it goes to realaudio.php?=B

i would really like to know how to do this but cant find anything online, can any1 assist me thanx

if you make a link like:

page.php?parameter=value

then the variable $_GET['parameter'] wil have the value "value" in the script called.
With that information you can adjust the contents of your page.
multiple values is also possible:

page.php?par1=val1&par2=345&par5=blablabla

If $_GET['parameter'] is empty when trying it out, see this post where is explained what to do in that situation.
