What is the exact query used by phpmyadmin's SELECT function

Postby jacen6678 » Sun Jun 27, 2004 1:34 pm

Does anyone know the exact query run by phpmyadmin when you goto select (click a table and choose select from the list Print view, Browse, Select, Insert).

I have been using a generic SELECT query like:

SELECT * FROM some_table WHERE name='some_name'

I noticed that in one case, phpmyadmin's select finds more results then the generic query. What is phpmyadmin doing differently?

by default phpmyadmin appends

Code: Select all

limit 0, 30

and hence limits the recordset

I know that phpmyadmin adds a limit 0, 30. But it also manipulates the WHERE clause somehow. For example, it renders case insensitive. What are all of the manipulations to the where clause?
