What does it mean when error says change chmod to 666

I m tryin to install a forum for my site. But it keeps giving me error to change chmod to 666 or 777
help plz

chmod is a server utility to set / change access permissions to files or directories!
So... it seems you need to give a 666 or 777 permission to some file or directory! Check it on your FTP client (if you have it)... you´ll probably find it!

If you don´t know what chmod is... let´s googling: chmod!
