How to call a VB dll from PHP ?

Hello All,

My requirement is to call a VB (.dll) file from PHP. This dll will list down all the *.pst file from the user's pc.

Relpy asap.

You can't call a .dll that's on the user's system, and a .dll on your server won't be able to find files on the user's system.

you need activeX controls for this sort of thing, Not php.

Thanks for all your's reply.

Can any one tell me how can i accomplish this task. I want to search the *.pst file from the user's PC and display in list. On selection of any one pst file. it will import all the records in database.

ActiveX coding is beyond my knowledge, and generally frowned upon given the exploitations it is used for. You can have the user browse for a file to upload to your server with a common file box, but other than that...

I wonder of a Java applet could do this.

ActiveX is not a good solution as most people do not like to install them and almost all browsers (even IE) block activeX installations..
try looking into Java Applets, however i dont thing its possible as well: it is actually a security breach..

You can only if you are have a good permissions and your server is Windows.

Okej... i think we already discussed this... and no wizard you are wrong as the files are not to be listed from the server but from the clients PC.. :) please read more carefull
