PHP and Flash

Postby jerez_z » Sun Jun 27, 2004 4:35 pm

I just built a Flash forum (over the last week or so) combining Flash and PHP. If you care to try it out:

Demo: Link
Downlaod: Coming soon. I'll have a distribuatable copy installable on your server.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Oh and one more thing. All the menu options are on the right click menu. I'm working on the lay out to put them elsewhere.

NOTE: It lags a little when loading data. I would recommend turning off animated windows and setting quality to low.

your not liking it? I figured it would be easier than to add seperate frames for each option, allowing you to hold onto your post while replying/logging in etc

Your implementation is nice, jerez, but unfortunately it carries with it all of the pitfalls of creating web applications in Flash. In the end, complex Flash web apps just aren't practical. But I do appreciate the technical achievement you've made, here.

you are more right than you know. and I realize it. It isn't practical to build in flash, but its sweet and smooth, and I did purely to see if I could outdo my previous work. :)
