SMS Sending by Using PHP

I am planning to work on a script of Sending SMS by using PHP.

Can anyone tell me what is the requirement for working on such types of scripts?

Where can I found such type of script for downloading and doing research work on it?

most involve getting a componet and developing the system...aspsms component is free and a nice tool...some of the others are expensive and require you to purchases the gateway....
