Yes. Just output the things you want to print, and don't output the stuff that wastes your ink.

im sorry maybe i wasn't clear on what i was asking. i want to keep my content "as is" on my search page with all the graphics and what not. But I also want a link on the same page that will turn the same page into a "printer-friendly" page. I've searched the net and none of the scripts seem to work.

You could have it read the page and replace all img tags with blank space when it displays it.
