use FTP at work

Postby asshpara » Sun Aug 28, 2011 3:30 am

When you use FTP at work, how much information is recorded about your transfers? I uploaded something by mistake to the public server but I took it down right away. Will the fact that I uploaded it be recorded anywhere? Thousands of files are uploaded and viewed every day - but I am not an admin on the server side... I just have an FTP account. What is the most common setup?

Most common setup is all transactions are logged. It's up to the Administrator as to whether or not they check the logs, monitor actions, etc.

My guess, is that unless it was illegal software, you shouldn't have to worry much about it. If it was illegal, then.. well.. you're on your own.
