enable LDAP with PHP 5.3.6 on Windows

Postby OldMortality » Mon Jun 06, 2011 11:59 pm

Dear experts,

I am hoping to enable LDAP, with PHP version 3.5.6 under Windows XP.

According to various instructions, I should uncomment this line in php.ini

Sorry, submitted that by accident.

As I was saying, I should uncomment this line in php.ini:

extension=php_ldap.dll

Now this line is not there in php.ini to be uncommented. When I add the line, Apache web server 2.2. will not start.

I have also downloaded php_ldap.dll, libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll and put them into the ext folder. I have tried putting those into C:\PHP and even into C:\WINDOWS\System32 but none of that makes any difference.

What should I do?

thank you for your attention.

php_ldap.dll is there in the .zip version of windows. If you have used the windows installer version to install php, then you will have to uninstall it, download the .zip version and do a fresh installation.

Hello.

I am facing the same problem on version 5.3.22 running as an Apache module on Windows 7 Professional 64x.

Although the Apache web server starts, the php_ldap.dll is not being loaded.

Could you please tell me why should I uninstall PHP installed by the installer ? Is there anything the installer makes that can not be configured on the .ini file ? Are the PHP executables different ?

Thank you very much.

Hello.

I have succeeded on adding the LDAP extension to the PHP on my computer, although I had to first uninstall PHP.

I did not use any PHP zip version. I have simply used the same PHP Windows installer and chosen the option to instal LDAP support on the hard disk.

Thank you very much any way. :)

Kind regards
