This is an elementary question for any of you with experience, however I have been searching the web and tinkering on my laptop for awhile now without clarity.
What does a person have to do so that an html or php document in the Apache root directory (htdocs) is able to parse php statements. I have tried wamp, however there does not seem to be a root directory, and I have tried installing Apache 2.2, then PHP 5.3, however during the PHP installation it says there was an error accessing the httpd.conf file.
What does a person have to do so that Apache can interpret a PHP file or an HTML file with embedded PHP elements. Thank you very much,
