PHP Installation on Windows98

Postby wmdrumaizi » Thu Jan 23, 2003 5:27 pm

Hi there, I'm very new to php, but I'm quite interested. I've downloaded php4.3.0 installer from http://www.php.net. Im using Win98 with PWS 4.0 intalled. My home directory is
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot. My questions are:
1) Is php works with PWS? If it is how to configure PWS to be able to work with php?

2) Where should I put my php script in my server to be previewed?

3) Is php works with MS Access?

4) In which directory should I locate my database (mySQL) in the server?

Any help would highly be appreciated, best regards

1) Yes, but i recommend use Apache server.
2)In your C:\Inetpub\wwwroot but if you want this working need configuring you server.
3)Yes, PHP with "any" database....
4) in root. Ex. c:\mysql, but you may set other.

I had the same problem
Reinstall PWS
And install the PHP using the installer program
* PHP 4.3.0 zip package
* PHP 4.3.0 installer

Actually I'm using Apache, PHP and MySQL
Download this program...
This program install Apache, PHP and MySQL and configure all
You don't do and know nothing
This program make all things
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/phpt ... up2-11.exe

Then...
Go to http://www.php.net and download PHP 4 an install using installer program
* PHP 4.3.0 zip package
* PHP 4.3.0 installer

URLs
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/phpt ... up2-11.exe
http://www.php.net/downloads.php

Good luck!!!
:D
