1) How can I pass the maximum possible values for screen height and width to window.open() ?

2) Is it possible to close a window without user confirmation?

1st:

You can acceess the screen width and height values by invoking:

window.screen.availWidth;
window.screen.availHeight;

BTW: I think you can access through screen.width and screen.height too!
