How do you put your own icon on a web page browser?

Postby AJArmstron » Wed Feb 22, 2012 2:06 pm

Hi - I would be grateful to know how you put an icon so it displays on the web browser when your own web page is being viewed. At the moment I have a default one which is the website hosts symbol. I would like to set one which is connected to my web page.

Thank you. I have tried searching on the internet, with no success.

EDIT - Sorry - I think I have found an answer here http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/customicon.shtml

I dont know if this is supported in all browsers.

Code: Select all

<link rel="icon" href="http://www.Location_of_Your_icon.com/YOUR_ICON.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.Location_of_Your_icon.com/YOUR_ICON.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

you can try to:
<link href="../../favicon.ico" mce_href="favicon.ico" rel="bookmark" type="image/x-icon" />
<link href="../../favicon.ico" mce_href="favicon.ico" rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" />
<link href="../../favicon.ico" mce_href="favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" />
