I have created a simple forum on my site, but am having touble getting replies to appy only to the thread that they are added to lets say new_reply.php?thread_id=5 each thread gets and id when created. how can i make it to where i can pass the value of

new_reply.php?thread_id=5
new_reply.php?thread_id=4

and so one to one script that will add the reply accordingly???????

I would love to help, but I do not fully understand the question.

new_reply.php?thread_id=5
new_reply.php?thread_id=4

do you want to reference the value of thread_id in the links above? If so, use $_GET['thread_id']. If not, can you rephrase the question?

i just need away of telling the script what thread_id it is processing , but what you said may work.
