Contact Form Message

Postby briofoz » Wed Jul 10, 2013 7:56 am

I receive this message when I send a contact form...

"register globals may be on, please switch this setting off (look at php.net for details, specifically the ini_set() function )"

Not sure if I am allowed to post link. This site is 5 yo and i have been tasked to fix it. It is using an old Secure Contact Form Script (FREE Version)

I know to solve it you will need more info...but what info?

open your php.ini file and switch the register gloabls to off. register globals opens a lot of security holes and that is why it is wise to turn it off.

Thanks Johnj, but where is it switched? In PHP Myadmin or elsewhere?

In your php.ini file (provided you have permission to edit it). Please read about php.ini.

If my understanding is correct then register_globals cannot be set at runtime (ini_set())

Some people say that it(register global variable) can be set using .htaccess file though I haven't tried it.
