Getting the coordinates

Postby skinner » Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:48 am

Hi there! My name is Jose, I am from Spain and new to this forum. Nice to meet you!

New to PHP (I learnt the basics) , I am trying to code the next situation: Imagine we have a 100x100 pixel BMP-image, divided in 5 rows 20 pixels long each, and 5 columns 20 pixels long each. Then we have 25 squares right? Imagine we have already loaded the image onto the webpage. The next thing I need to do, is to "capture" the user's mouse cursor, and determine whether it is over (1,1) square or over (3,8) square (for instance). And that's not all, but I also need to let the user know by poping up an "information balloon" just under the user's mouse cursor.

What would be the best way to accomplish this work?

Thank you very much!! And hope you are having a happy new 2013!!
