sessions on same ip

Postby Sojmen » Mon May 05, 2003 6:27 am

Iv'e got a homepage that uses sessions to store settings (background color ect.), when you have logged in. But at school when more than one person is logged in, it seems like we use the same sessions, we get the same bg colors ect. . Is there anyway we can have our own sessions, although we have got the same ip, and are connected to internet via the same server?

Hi

Would you like to tell me the name of page on which these session's are working......

After seeing that page i can tell where is the problem exactely.

by the way your problem can be solved by using the sessiod id. it may be happen that your current system should be working on the basic of session ip. as your school'a all machine ip are same so you are getting the same session detail. so checkout the same script with the basic of session id not on session ip.

contact furtehr if you have any more problem's.

Thanks..

I understand your problem.

Your problem is that your system's session detail is working on the basic of the sesion ip. Thats why when more then one person is logged in from your school they all use the same session detail because your server has a common ip shared by all terminal's connected to that server.

So do a little change in your system and let it work on the basic of session id. As session id would be different for every new window open.

If you still have any problem then dont hasitate to ask me again.

You can send me the code if you dose not have any problem.

Thanks...

Hi

I think you should mail me your code in english if you dont have any problem, because without seeing your code i can tell you that how to change your system from session ip to session id.

If you have problem in sending the code then send the working of your site and system in plain english or in diagram's with the variable you are using.

Send me mail at vikas@dinsol.com

After this i would make a system and mail it to you . and accordingly you can change in your system.
