Accessing inbox fields from PHP coding

Instead of accessing manually into the inbox list and look for fields like "From" or "message", I wish to access those fields in my PHP coding.
I am not an experienced PHP programmer, I presume probably I have to define an object to connect to my inbox, but I do not know how to do.
Could anybody help ?

if you are not exp. in php...
that could be a bit difficult
first you need to know

• IMAP and POP Functions
• Regular expressions

After knowing the following you need to parse all the headers of the mails
and then generate the required output
