Sending mail to Hotmail.com doesn't work

Postby markwijnants » Sat Jun 26, 2004 2:55 pm

Hi All,

I installed an automatic subscription php-script on my website, to allow visitors to subscribe themselves to my mailing list.
All works fine except to mail-adresses of hotmail. These mails doesn't reach the hotmail-mailbox. I get the error "unrouteable domain".
Does anybody know what I can do on this problem????
I searched the web, found some things but none of these 'solutions' works for me.

Thanks in advance.

Well, the first step is to figure out if the problem is with PHP or with your mail server. So use a regular e-mail client to send a message to one of the problematic hotmail accounts, through the same SMTP server that you have set up with PHP. If the mail arrives, then there's something amiss with PHP, and we can work it out from there. If it doesn't, the trouble is with your mail server, and you should contact your system administrators.

I figured it out myself today. It's hotmail that recognizes the from-adress as spamm I think, because now I uses another from adress and all the emails are passing.
Thanks anyway for the reaction.
