problem of displaying the quicktime movie

Postby begeiste » Mon Jun 27, 2005 1:09 pm

I have uploaded my quicktime movies to my media folder and insert the record to the database, and check them out. They are all inside of right directory showing on phpadmin. The problem is when I click on the thumbnail.jpg of quicktime movie, the movie didn't load and check the path of media where they are stored, they are all correct. But when I click on the thumbnail.jpg of still image file, the large image is displaying for me. I am wonder if does large file depend on the file size. The large still jpg image 100K, but the quicktime movie is 2000K. Does file size have to be around 100K? Can you point out what is going on? Thanks.

This is the thumbnail link on the displaying page:
<td><a href="detail_member.php?recordID=<?php echo $row_info_m['id']; ?>"><img src="member_pic/<?php echo $row_info_m['thumb']; ?> " border="0"></a></td>

This is the detailed page which should be playing the quicktime movies once the thumbnail got triggered.
<img src="member_pic/<?php echo $row_DetailRS1['large']; ?>" border="0">

The odd thing is that all .jpg files are showing no problem, but only the .mov files are missing. Do you have any ideas? Thanks so much.

well... i think you will not be able to opena mov file within the image tag... you will most probably need to send aheader and path through the file or simply link to the file...

also possibler to use <object> for playing it..

Can you make a sample code for me since I would like to put the php dynamic code in there rather than static code of the link, I am not sure what you referred "will most probably need to send aheader and path through the file or simply link to the file... "? Thanks a lot.

hmmz... how about something like this:
However tweak this to mov :)

Code: Select all
<?php
// We'll be outputting a PDF
header('Content-type: application/pdf');

// Commented out as we dont want to save it :)
// It will be called downloaded.pdf
// header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="downloaded.pdf"');

// The PDF source is in original.pdf
readfile('original.pdf');
?>
