php function not working

i've been trying to use the function imagecreatefromjpeg, imagecreate and imagecopyresized. but it says that the function is undefined, but it is a built in function of php right?, i am using php 4. i am pretty sure that it is included on my version, pls. help

No, those functions are part of the GD extension. Try the documentation.
