upload image Issue

hi! I am new commer in programming. Now a days I am learning php. Can any one help me who can I upload image? I able to insert and fetch record from mysql DataBase. But I am unable to understand what value should insert in database agianst that image field. I have no idea at this time. I read on w3schools and some other sites. But unable to follow. I will be very happy if some one spend a couple of minutes for helping by writing in his/her own wording. Thanks and waiting for early response...
