Easy import format?

I am trying to find out how to import data into phpmyadmin with Excel-or some other format that is easy. Our users need to have a specific format to follow.. I heard Excel will export CVS files..Can anyone tell me the easiest way to import? the records have 11 columns:
date agency city day time location building_room street zip phone contact
I will be adding multiple records 20-30 at a time and probably end up with 2-400 all together..

just click the table you want to export....

and on the top, there is a tab, "export"
click on it.. and then it will provide you with various options , one of them being CSV [comma separated values] which Excel can understand...

and then click the submit button to receive the values

Could the reason I get this error be the version of the MySQL database or phpmyadmin?
Is there a simple way to upload a text file in CSV format?

So...let me guess...you think the error is completelydue to the version of MySQL??

Try LOAD DATA INFILE instead!

LOCAL is just available in MySQL 3.22.6 or later!
