Please help, protecting .csv file

Postby ethanmelamed » Tue Mar 04, 2014 11:10 am

Hi so I am developing a registration system for a local charity's website. I am taking the data from the registration fields, adding them to an array and then writing them to a .csv file using :
fputcsv($fs, $fields);

I am reasonably knowledgeable about computer science but I am a fish out of water when it comes to security. I realize that proper data validation is important and I am doing this as best I can. However when it comes to actually writing to the file and storing the file what measures should I take to ensure security?

oh and btw the use of a .csv file over a mysql database is a requirement given by the client.

All help is appreciated
