Securing Cookies

Postby tusharPhp » Tue May 06, 2014 3:28 am

I have one security check tool that is returning an error for following cookie.

Code: Select all
setcookie("PHPFIXATION","",time()-3600,"/");

the error contains the message - "(Cookie Security: Persistent Cookie) =>Storing sensitive data in a persistent cookie can lead to a breach of confidentiality or account compromise."

I want to know that if i am assigning its expiry parameter to
Code: Select all
time()-3600
how this cookie can become persistent?
Any help appreciated.
