Well, as far as installing MySQL and PHP... If you are using a windows machine, I would recommend using foxserv 3.0, which you can get here. http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/foxserv/FoxServ-3.0.exe It has the latest versions of both, and is extremely simple to install. As far as information goes, the infamous http://php.net is perfect. Good luck.

I am a newbie and that´s an attempt to learn some php /mysql.
I´ve followed a php manual edited in 2000 which recommends to install apache http server and MySQL version 3.23.11-alpha;

As 3 years in terms of IT is too much I wonder if that would be the right away to get started with ?

Can you indicate me as well URLs with updated pHP / MySQL manuals /courses / whatever that can teach me the basic and to start my first tests.
