\t represents a tab cahracter
try this:
first you need to create a text file
then try doing this

Code: Select all

<?php
$outputstring = "text text and \t text";
$fp = fopen("location of your file", 'a');
fwrite($fp, $outputstring);
fclose ($fp);
?>

you need to run the script and then check the file that you were writing to (unless it gives you some kind of a warning)there should be a tab between "and" and "text"
