Newbie question about register_globals

Postby Anirog » Fri Jun 27, 2003 6:52 am

I have been using phpwebed so my friend can update her site without messing with html, it's a really nice little script but unfortunately it requires 'register_globals on' in php.ini.

This is a pain as my host has register_globals off and I read that it is best to write your scripts so that they do not require register_globals to be on.

Does anyone know of another script similar to phpwebed or one that allows easy site updates that doesn't need register_globals on.

I would check with the author to see if they plan on creating a version to work with register globals being off.

requiring register globals on is a security risk and bad programming in my eyes.. but hey I never said I was perfect either.
