Making A Picture Gallery and an Archive for my pictures!!!

Postby CyberAmusement » Tue Jun 24, 2003 12:50 pm

Im working on a website and I need to figure out a way of making my life easier in the long term. I'm making a picture gallery and i will get about 200 pictures a month and i need to archive them and make it easy to post them online. I also want to be able to update the design withought messing anything up.

Thanks. Please help me!

what part do you need help with.

If you want to change the design just include the php file using

include('photogallery.inc.php') or the like.

other than that I'm not sure what you need help on. Be more specific.

Hi!

You can easily find some open source image management on the Web... Try for instance http://www.phpwebgallery.net/!!
No I am not posting it only because it is a friend of mine who wrote it!

You can use a database where you have
+----------+--------------+--------------------------+
| title | some desc | url |
+----------+--------------+--------------------------+
| my Pic | this is bla... | 'images/mypic.gif' |
+----------+--------------+--------------------------+

and then have a page to move through the images

Coppermine photo gallery http://www.chezgreg.net/coppermine/

you need to have imagemagick installed on yr server if you want to resize images after uploading them.

I installed both on my server, I am not an expert and it was fairly easy.
