Best way to learn PHP?

What is, in your opinion, the best way to learn how to code PHP?

learn by doing, id reccoment [url]w3schools.com[/url] and if you can afford it get php/mysql the missing manual

I personally, try to think of something to do. For ex. if you want to learn how to select data from the db you start searching how to connect to the db, how to execute the query, how to properly use the returned data etc. I agree with iam4423 that the best way is to just start doing something and learn from your errors.
