How would I go about adding one password to one page?

What do you mean password in a page?

I have over 50 pages of intranet info pages here on my network. I have built one administration page, and need to password protect it.

I would like to try to be able to have a very simple authentication script if possible, without having to incorporate a database, or some third party software. Just a log in page, and maybe a text file of some sort, like a windows .ini file

in form you asking about password,
in php script you are coding by md5 function and compare with inf from file (for example myPass.word), if all not ok terminate.
