Re: $_SESSION Track Unique Computer

Any data supplied by the user can be forged. So the only secure way is though a login system.

Programs in richly typed languages often "just
work". Why?
- Simple, common mistakes very often lead
to type inconsistencies.
- Programmers forced to think a bit harder.
Hope this explains it.

Re: I need a timed delay, please.

you could use

Code: Select all

header( "Location: [new page]" );
Or

Code: Select all

$time = time();
while( 1 )
{
    if( time() >= ($time+2) ) // 2 Seconds
        break;
}

// time delayed code

Re: msiexec

Unless msiexec is deleted then all windows computers that you can install .msi files on will have the msiexec command on them. So there is no need for an alternative.

Windows just silently uses the msiexec program when you run .msi files directly.

Re: vista search

On XP the command are:

Code: Select all

FIND Searches for a text string in a file or files.
FINDSTR Searches for strings in files.
I though that they where the same on vista, but I've never tried searching for my files as I know where they all are :).

Re: text field validation

You are thinking of AJAX, you need to have a php file which checks the $_GET[] vars sent to it against a database and then returns XML code with the results. I won't explain it here as it can be complicated however there are lots of tutorials on the internet.

Re: how to Increase temp files life time in php?

I believe that the temp files only last for as long as the php script is running. You would be better moving the source video to a different temp folder i.e. "/home/[username]/video_tmp/". Then run the conversion program using the file in the "/home/[usrname]/video_tmp/" path, then tell php to delet...

Re: Need Help in Saved Form of browsers

Do you meanm How do you prevent the users browser auto-completing the form? If so I don't think that it is posible; unless you want to have to write a lot of session and random naming code.

If you mean something different then try to explain a bit more.

Try changing the file extensions to .php.
If that works correctly then the problem is with apache not configured properly.

Re: images disappear with require_once

This sounds like a file path issue rather than a coding issue. i.e. If your url is: http://mysite.com/index.php and you have a html tag that is in a php include: <img src="images/myimage1.jpg" ...> then you include the same include in this url: http://mysite.com/folder/index.php The img tag now poin...

is my SELECT query correct? Nope. This is: ... $sql = "SELECT * FROM `addressdb` WHERE (`ptno`='" . $_GET['ptno'] . "');"; ..
