Good advice. Getting ripped off/scammed is one of the few things I truly hate.

Making the best use of javascript

Javascript is a pretty powerful client based coding language, so there are plenty of things you can do with it. What's, in your opinion, the best you can use it for?

Is your site HTML5 ready yet?

We're still a few years away until HTML5 is officially launched. Some current HTML tags like <font> will soon be history. Have you made your site HTML5 ready yet or not? Have you tried using HTML5 to develop any features?

Developing your own website

Have you ever developed your own website from scratch? If so, what software did you use to make it? Personally anytime I have a new project I make the design from scratch and use Dreamweaver and Photoshop to do so :)

PHP pages and HTML

PHP pages can still contain a lot of typical HTML, so your pages will still need the basic <html>, <body>, etc. tags. Favorite colors for a website

Every designer and every webmaster prefers to stick with similar colors for their sites. Some prefer light themes, other prefers dark themes. What colors do you use in most of your websites? Blue and white has been my favorite for a while. I like navy blue a lot, and always try to mix it up with som...

CSS3

CSS3 is the latest version for Cascade Style Sheets available for now. Chrome, Mozilla, Safari and Opera support it, whereas IE (versions 7 and 8, not sure about 9) doesn't. You can do all kinds of things and get very cool features from CSS3, like rounded edges and even animations. Although using CS...

Doesn't this (between head tags) work?

Code: Select all

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="link" />
Replace 'link' with the external sheet link.

Try playing around with the margins t...

jQuery or good ol' JavaScript?

When it's time to code something that requires JavaScript, do you write your own codes based on jQuery (the popular JavaScript library), or prefer to use JavaScript instead? While jQuery may be a lot simpler to write and it may be easier to learn, since it's based on JavaScript, it can slow things d...
