regex problem

Hey guys, I really really suck at regex but I need one asap. The rules are:
- can contain only alphanum chars and underscore;
- must begin and end with a letter (not underscore or number);
- no spaces;

I need this to validate a field. Thanks, cheers ^_^

elfinder question

Hi guys, I don't know how many of you are using elfinder, but I think it's the best js file manager out there. I have maybe a simple question, but I'm struggling with it for the past 2 days. I want to have a link and a text field. When I click the link, elfinder should open. When I double click on t...

Hierarchical data in db

I thought a lot about this, searched the internet and the method that I like most is where you keep the lineage in a separate field in your table containing your hierarchical data. I'm not saying it's the best, just that I like it best. I'll explain the method quickly and then ask my question. You h...

Re: php form required fields

What validation do you need? Server side or client side. If you think about client side with ajax, you will need some knowledge with ajax and it is absolutely necessary for security reasons to do server-side validation. Give more info and I think I can explain what you need tomorrow, cuz today it's ...

Re: Best IDE

There is no 'best IDE'. You use whatever suits your needs. I prefer netBeans / eclipse. But for designers, I think it's better to use Dreamweaver. It's totally up to you.

Re: saving a into an existing DB

What do you mean by table? Excel table or database table? If it is database table, you have to get the row (all the values or only the ones you need) with a simple select statement and then insert the values in the new table. OR You can use INSERT INTO ..... (SELECT ... FROM ...) statement. Give us ...

Re: php form question

That depends a lot from many many other things. How do you log in the user, where do you keep his credentials (session, cookies, text files, db...), what info do you wish to pass etc. etc. Your question can't be that simply answered by anyone...

dollar sign

This is a stupid question and I actually didn't know where exactly to post. My client wants the dollar sign before the price to be with two stripes (not with one like the one on the keyboard). Is there a symbol for that or I have to use image?

Re: How To Save Login Information In a file on server?

First, tell why do you need to save the user info in text file on the server? This is a GREAT SECURITY ISSUE and you should never ever do it, unless you have a really good reason for it.

join three tables

I've never been good with complex queries (not that this is a complex one). I have three tables: Order Order_product Product Each product has manufacturer_id. There can be more than one product in one order (that's why there is a cross table 'Order_product'). The products in a single order can have ...

Re: Php form with mysql

one more thing. I think this may be the problem but cannot be sure.
$nome = isset($_POST['nome'])?$_POST['nome']:null;
If you have a field with a null value, in the database you may have checked NOT NULL and this may be causing the problem.

include('config.php');
If you have any output to the browser in this file, header() won't work.

Re: what is wrong with my php file?

Well that's what you should've said from the beginning.... You don't need radio buttons, you need checkboxes. http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp I don't have time to explain now, sorry. Make some effort to get it to work and post your results. Cheers

No, I don't see anything wrong. But I still don't know what you wish to achieve and if the script returns any errors... Please, don't just ask "do you see anything wrong". Tell us if something isn't working, any returned errors or what you wish to achieve. This way it's easier to help you and find a...
