Re: Date issues...

Thanks MeroD, I can see where you're going with that answer, however I'm experiencing something that seems more difficult to overcome due to your answer. I get the following on the output page.. SCREAM: Error suppression ignored for ( ! ) Notice: A non well formed numeric value encountered in C:\wam...

Date issues...

Hiya guys, I need a little bit of help. I'm running a small script that takes a string from a database and then I'm trying to compare it to the server date, to see if it's in the future or past. I've managed this amount in my coding but I'm a bit stump on how to highlight if it's one week away etc.....

Re: Risks of newbies developing apps

Well that's definitely an interesting article, and it certainly raises some extremely valid and strong points, but where would we be without the weekender playing around, we'd have never established organisations like Ebay, and some of the technology that gets pushed further is by those who do devel...

Re: Addition in database data...

I've moved forward because of what you've posted, which is great. Thank you NigelRen. I found the following article which has worked nicely,

http://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_groupby.asp

just for anyone who has this issue in future.

Addition in database data...

Not sure how to explain this but here goes an attempt... I've got a table where I have 3 user names. Scoodo, Scoobii, and Skadda. They have all taken tests. test 1, test 2 and test 3. In each test they have scored 0-100, and what I'm trying to do is run the data from a data base where I have the fol...

Best known market place?

Just wondering what everyone uses to buy and sell websites these days, does anyone know any good websites?

I've looked around, but I'm curious as to what I can find, to try and venture into buying an existing website business...

Re: WHERE clause issue....

That worked! However it's resulted in an unexpected issue. The result is only of one record, and not multiple records where the Team string is correct, so where I should get two results, I'm only getting one. This is however all ways the second result, and never the first one to be read from the tab...

WHERE clause issue....

Hiya guys, I'm posting what is likely a simple problem but I'm over looking it I think. I've got a small script to post to a URL including what I want my WHERE clause to be defined by, which is then being carried into my SQL command, however I'm getting a message on the page generated stating that m...

Hiya guys, Sorry for the lack of updates, but yea the update is that I can't afford the finance required for project. Would be willing to provide hosting and share profits from a development, but I can't afford it unfortunately. Thanks for your assistance though, What I did achieve was - registratio...

PHP job plus payment... potential.

Hiya guys, I'm just wondering, can anyone quote me a price on what it would cost to develop a fantasy league website in php? Something very basic, based around a racing sport, with no design required? I can cover CSS, and HTML as well as basic PHP, and feel quite confident with MySQL, but I feel com...

Calculating combined fields...?

Need some help with this one guys... so I'm going to give you a scenario similar to what I'm doing first of all. Lets say you have $100 to spend on 4 toys. You have a list of toys plus their individual prices. What this means is I have a table within my database named toys, where it holds two fields...

Re: organising data...

Sounds good Larry, I'll give it a blast when I get off work, later tonight. Managed to resolve the issue by using only numbers, and an if statement that says if number is zero, echo DNQ / RET... which is sufficient, just really in this now to see how it would work, if I was needing that precise way ...

Re: organising data...

Hiya Larry, Almost got it, but good job never the less.. Now I have the numbers before the text, but the numbers are the whole 1, 10, 12, 2, 25, 3 sorting... not nice at all. I'm thinking maybe I should remove the text from the data, and allow it to only be numbers, then if a blank option is printed...

Hiya Larry mate, You've just lost me... lol, I've replaced what I had with what you just suggested, and the result is as follows, although I do understand the answer, I now have a syntax error and I can't establish where the syntax is wrong. Error "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the man...

Re: organising data...

Anyone following this... ===================== considering I've had no replies, I figured I'd update on my progress with this issue... Re: organising data...

For anyone following, I've tried this.. $sql = "SELECT * FROM results ORDER BY HEX (Driver_Position) ASC"; Which is a change from ABS to HEX, but it then throw the letters where I want them, but scrambles the numbers, and ignores the rules behind ABS. So the numbers go 1, 10, 2, 20, 3, 30. etc, Does...
