I know the code works when it stands alone, the problem is when I try to use it with any extra statements as shown previously it won't display inline.

Other then iframe, I don't think there is anyway to do it with simple html. Which you're right in saying it's not supported much. The best way I know to achieve what you want is with PHP. Either by including the header/footer and/or using functions to call the menus where you need them in your page.

Thanks for the reply. That's definitely an improvement to the code, but it doesn't solve my problem.

What I need is the PDF to read inline, which I can't seem to get it to work, but reading it as an attachment does work for some reason.

I've been working on a way to secure some PDFs. I currently have them outside the web root and have tested my readfile script by itself and it is working. When I try to add any if statements verifying some $_Post variables to grant the user access to the file I get a "File does not begin with '%PDF-...

You could add your orange background color to the ul tag to fill in the white space.
