No one would be able to know if you want to ask something or you wanted to tell something. Second thing is that you will never be able to get the answer of this untill you have not placed your codes into verified form.

You can stick yourself to joins. Using joins you can show data from different tables or if you have some expertise of OOP then define and module and use whenever you wanted to show data from different tables. Well i do use modules for this.

I think you should echo file type then replace your file type with that one.
I have observed that sometimes it changes the format from server to server. :-x

I use Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 it is awesome and much easy to use
it is also facilitating you with FTP.
