I need a problem-solving script

Hi, does anyone know of a PHP script that will build a web-based questionnaire that leads the user through a series of questions with A or B answers, please? E.g. Does the receiver have 1 or 2 inputs? 1 - Does replacing the cable fix the fault? Y/N 2 - Does swapping the connections change the sympto...

I just noticed that the error message is dated 2010. There is actually no problem at all!
Apologies!

Error in IP address grabber

IP address grabber. My sites have moved to a new server, which generates a useful error log file. I've fixed one problem already but I'm stumped with this:- [17-Oct-2010 21:55:31] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE, expecting '(' in /home/hfr529md/public_html/tec.php on line 319 [1...

I found this but I welcome other suggestions: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum24/788.htm TOP OF page: <? // include the cloaking function require_once('/full/path/to/cloaking/script/IsSpider.php'); ?> FOR EACH LINK ON THE page(s): <P> Visit our sponsor</P> <P> <? if IsSpider() { print "Lose Weigh...

Hiding from the robots

I'd like to hide an html page so its content can't be logged by passing "bots". Can someone point me towards a solution, please? My knowledge of PHP is terribly rudimentary but I don't expect you to write the script for me! I just need a few clues. Am I being paranoid in not trusting robots.txt and ...

Re: I need a timed delay, please.

I should add that I've tried using delays with "sleep" and "while x <= 10000" but it seems that the structure of my script is not allowing such delays to work in the way I want. Just to clarify what I'm trying to achieve: 1. A page appears asking for password. 2. A blank page appears with "Searching...

I need a timed delay, please.

I have a password-protected page. The password must begin with SAT I want it to appear that the password is being searched for after it is typed in. How do I introduce a delay after inserting the "checking.htm" page? I want the "checking" GIF image to be displayed for 2 seconds before the final page...

Re: mac email sent folder problem

Are you using a POP server?
Are you using Apple "Mail" email client?
Which version?

Re: Newbie email display problem. Please help!!!

What do you mean by "display".
Are you referring to the appearance of the email when you receive it?

additional_parameters

I'm using a PHP script to send emails quite successfully. The only problem I'm having is that bounces get returned to my ISP instead of to me! $copyto = 'martin@somewhere.com'; $bcopyto = 'martin@somewhere.net'; $headers = 'From: noreply2me@somewhere.biz' . "\r\n" . 'Reply-To: noreply2me@somewhere.b...

Google found this: http://www.programmingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=24553

and http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread3299.html

I don't fully understand it myself (I understand .htaccess) but there should be enough info. there to show you what to do.

(Please report back on your success!)

Czesc!

Yes, interesting. I tried it on my server and, as you say, it works for small files but not for large. It produces an error message "File not uploaded!Error!".

Using strpos with numbers?

I'm trying to check to see if an IP address falls within a specific range. To do this I'm putting the range values into an array then using strpos to see if the array value is found within the string "$ip". The following (trivial) example works with words but doesn't work with numbers and I think it...

IF statement syntax for several OR options?

Suppose I have a variable $name and I want to assign a phrase to $answer if $name contains "word1", "word2", "word3", "word4" etc. Is there a simple way to construct the IF statement without (IF xxx = "word1") OR (IF xxx = "word2") OR (IF xxx = "word3") ? It seems very inelegant to do it that way! I...

$url = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="15; URL=". $url .">';

Returning to the previous page?

My form sends its contents to my PHP script. How can I grab the URL of the form page (I want to use the same form on several sites) and add it to the following?

Code: Select all

<? echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="15; URL=http://www.mysite.com">';
?>
Any suggestions gratefully received. :)

How to stop visitor returning to questionnaire form?

I'll try to explain this clearly. I'm offering an on-line training course. The last (HTML) page of the course is a questionnaire whose purpose is to determine how well students understood the course. The questionnaire form contents get passed to a simple PHP script that checks the answers. (It's cru...
