The session_start must be the first on the page, before ANY output. Did you put your code before the part with session_start? If so, change the order and start the session before the DTD statement. Nota bene - any space before the <?php tag is also a text so will give you the error. Have <?php on th...

Why would you like to upload teh images in a database and not store them on the disc, and save only the name in the database? Maybe you have a good reason to do it but consider saving all the images in a folder on the server renamed and the names created uniquely - like userid_md5(name) or whatever,...

The principle behind is quite simple. In flash, you can request to read a file - like http://www.domain.com/file.php?list_of_get_params This file processes the params, reads the database, makes the necessary functionality and then, outputs the result in a way the flash can read it - you know, readin...

imprint, php does not do web pages!!! it allows you to add functionality to them - like reading info from a database and printing it to the page, search the database, and so on. You can't have a WYSIWYG editor because you don't have graphic objects in php - like in dreamweaver where you actually put...

CVS Server

Hi guys,

This is not really a PHP question but here goes...

Do you know a CVS server to run on Windows and can be used with ZDE? I want to create versions of the PHP scripts and it's rather hard to keep track of script.php -=- 31.Jan.2005 and so on.

Thanks.

Building a website monitor

Hi, We all know about websites that offer you a snippet of code and you insert it in your webpage and then you can access an account on the website where it tells you how many visitors you had in a period of time. This is easy to create. Well, these sites offer you more - the last 10-20 whatever inb...

How could I check if the session is destroyed to unseal the lock if the user just closes the browser window or shuts down the computer?

Shouldn't this be implemented in some script that runs on the server - like a cron?

Yes, thanks for the sugestions. Actually, locking the file is quite easy and that was not the exact problem. In a perfect world where after editing, each user submits the modifications or unlocks the page, this would be great. The real problem - the one that this topic implied - is what about users ...

Hi, I am implementing a multi-user Content Management System in PHP MySQL. After logging in, users will be presented with the structure of a site and they will be able to edit the content using a rich text editor. The problem is that more than one user can request a page to edit in the same time so ...

Here's what you got to do: 1. protect the folder you save the files on your server with .htaccess or set it outside the webpath. This way, direct access to them is blocked. Note that PHP is not affected by .htaccess 2. To send a file to be downloaded by the browser window use the following: <?php //...
